In the Community with Denver Rescue Mission

At American Appliance, we feel blessed to be able to play an active role in supporting our local Colorado community. One of our most heartfelt commitments is to the Denver Rescue Mission (DRM), an organization that began in 1892 as a rescue home for women. Denver Rescue Mission has since grown to provide physical and spiritual support to anyone who comes through its doors. Beyond feeding and sheltering the homeless, DRM provides transitional and family services programs, career centers, and life-skills education for men and women. 

To help DRM end the cycle of poverty, American Appliance provides active supports year-round with financial contributions and hands-on program participation. In fact, we have a standing agreement with the directory of DRM’s transitional living facility, The Crossing, to take care of whatever they need.

As in our relationships with customers, we want to do the most good we can in the lives of those The Crossing serves. Our goal is to provide the dedicated staff and selfless volunteers of The Crossing all of the tools they need to maximize the facility’s impact. For example:

• Every holiday season, we make a significant contribution to the center’s gift-giving program and participate in the gift-wrapping party with the families of the kids for whom we purchased gifts.
• We also organize many other events, including a pinewood derby and board game nights, to bring more joy and togetherness to a community that needs moments to relax, unwind and feel whole.
